Browse events by category

Categories are the topic-based way to browse Cloomba. Tech, music, food, sport — each promoted category has its own page with upcoming events from across the platform.

Browsing categories

The Browse by Category block on Discover shows the promoted categories with the most upcoming events. Each card opens /category/<tag> — the category page lists all upcoming public events tagged with that category.

What's a promoted category?

Any organiser can tag their event with one of three lowercase tags. The Cloomba team promotes a small set of tags to category status — these get a friendly title, an icon, a colour, the Discover slot, and a Follow button. Unpromoted tags still work as filters, just without the rich treatment.

We can't promote every tag, so we focus on the ones that genuinely group lots of events. Pick the tag that best describes your event — the right ones get promoted as the platform grows.

Following a category

On any promoted category page, tap Follow to subscribe. You'll be notified when new events are added under that category.

Combining with city browsing

A category page lists events from all cities. To narrow by location, use the city page instead — see Browse events by city. Cross-filter UIs are coming.
