Issuing refunds to guests

Updated 25 Sep 2026

You refund a paid ticket from your event's guest list. The money goes back to the guest through Stripe, and Cloomba returns its fee too.

How to issue a refund

  1. Open your event and go to the Guests tab.
  2. Find the guest and choose Refund.
  3. Confirm. The dialog shows the amount and the guest's name.

The guest's status changes to refunded shortly after. Stripe returns the money to the guest's original payment method; it typically appears within 5–10 business days depending on the guest's bank.

Refund is available for every guest who paid by card through Cloomba. Guests who paid you directly — by bank transfer or in cash — are refunded by you, the same way they paid.

When a guest cancels

A guest who cancels a ticket they paid for by card is refunded in full automatically, with Cloomba's fee returned as well.

What is refunded

The guest receives the full ticket price back, and Cloomba refunds its 5% platform fee too, so refunding a guest costs you nothing on our side. Stripe keeps its processing fee from the original payment — that's Stripe's rule for every refund, not a Cloomba choice.

When you must refund

If you cancel a paid event, you are required to refund all attendees in full. Cancelling the event on Cloomba does this for you: every ticket paid by card is refunded automatically, and every guest gets a cancellation email. Refund anyone who paid you directly yourself.

Refund policy on your event page

State your refund policy clearly in the event description — for example whether guests can request a refund if they cancel before a certain date. Where no policy is stated, guests are entitled to a full refund up to the start time of the event.
