Calendar newsletters

Bijgewerkt 25 sep 2026

The owner and admins of a calendar can write to its people from the Newsletters tab on the calendar's manage page.

Who can receive it

A newsletter goes to the calendar's people, as the People tab shows them:

  • Followers — people who follow the calendar
  • Guests — confirmed guests of any event whose home is this calendar, whoever organized it
  • Manual — contacts added on the People tab

Choosing recipients

Under Recipients, Everyone is picked to start with. To send to fewer people, pick groups instead:

  • Sources — Followers, Guests, Manual
  • Members — one group per membership tier
  • Tags — one group per tag used on the People tab

Groups add up: the newsletter goes to everyone in any group you picked, and a person in two groups gets one copy. Under Additional emails you can add addresses that are not in any group.

Before you send

  • The summary shows how many people the newsletter will reach, and how many are left out because they asked not to be emailed.
  • If some of them got another newsletter from this calendar in the last 7 days, a line says how many. It is there to help you space your emails out; it does not stop the send.
  • Send test to me sends you a copy first.
  • The message supports markdown.
  • The email shows the calendar's owner as the sender. Replies go to whoever wrote it.

A sent newsletter cannot be taken back.

Following up

For 30 days after sending, a newsletter in Past newsletters has a Follow up menu. Both options open the composer with that newsletter's subject and message, and you can edit both.

  • Send to more people — for a group you forgot, or a version with a different link for another group. Pick the new recipients; anyone who already got this newsletter is skipped. It stays one newsletter in the list, with the new total.
  • Send to the same people — to correct a date, a place, or a link. It goes to everyone who got the original, except anyone who has unsubscribed or whose address bounced since. It appears in the list as a new newsletter.

After 30 days, write a new newsletter instead.

Past newsletters

The list shows each newsletter with how many were sent, how many bounced, how many were marked as spam, and how many people unsubscribed. Cloomba does not track whether anyone opened a newsletter or clicked a link.

Limits and opt-outs

Newsletters count against the calendar owner's email sending limits, whoever sends them. Every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link, and anyone can turn calendar newsletters off in their notification settings. People who have unsubscribed are skipped automatically.
