Creating a calendar

Bijgewerkt 21 sep 2026

How to create one

Sign in and open Calendars in the top bar, then select New calendar. Give it a name — that is all it asks for. You land on the calendar's manage page, where everything else is set up.

You can create a calendar from the mobile apps as well. Editing a calendar stays on the web.

On the free plan you can own up to 3 calendars. Being an admin on someone else's calendar does not count. See Pricing & Fees.

Setting it up

The Settings tab is what you land on. Everything on it saves as you go:

  • Name and description — what kind of events to expect and who the calendar is for
  • Logo (square) and banner (wide) — the banner becomes the header of the calendar page
  • Address — the field under the name, cloomba.com/c/…. The calendar starts with a generated one; type a readable one and select Save, and the page moves to the new URL
  • Location — the city the calendar is based in; it links to that city's page
  • Let others submit events — off by default; see Submitting an event to a calendar
  • Links — your website and social profiles
  • People & sponsors — organizers, speakers, and partners shown on the calendar page
  • Admins — people who can edit the calendar, add events, review submissions, and write to your audience

Calendars are always public — anyone can open the page and follow it. Public events are shown to everyone. An unlisted event shows only to the calendar's members, when it offers memberships, and private events never appear.

Adding events

  • In the event form — the Calendar field sets the event's home calendar. New events land on your default calendar; star a calendar on your Calendars page to make it the default.
  • From the calendar page — Submit Event offers owners and admins three options: create a new event on the calendar, add an existing Cloomba event (yours, or any public event by link), or add an external event that happens outside Cloomba. Your additions go live immediately; they never wait in a queue.
  • From other organizers — turn on Let others submit events and review what comes in. See Submitting an event to a calendar.

The manage page

Open Manage on the calendar page, or the pencil on your Calendars page. The tabs:

  • Events — every event on the calendar, with the submissions queue behind a button on the toolbar
  • People — everyone the calendar reaches: followers, guests of your events, and contacts you import; tag them, export them, and manage memberships
  • Newsletters — write to those people; see Email sending limits
  • Payments — your Stripe account for membership dues, and the calendar's discount codes
  • Settings — everything above, plus the embed snippet and delete

Deleting a calendar keeps its events — they only stop being listed on it.
