The event chat

Bijgewerkt 23 Jul 2026

Every event on Cloomba has its own group chat — one thread for questions, logistics, and chatter before, during, and after the event.

Who's in it

Everyone going to the event is in the chat automatically — the organiser, any co-hosts and event staff, and everyone who has registered or joined. You don't add people by hand — membership follows the guest list, and cancelling a registration removes that person from the chat.

Where to find it

Open the event and go to its Chat tab. The event chat also appears in your Messages list alongside your direct conversations, so you can pick it back up from there.

Who can post

Anyone in the chat can post text and mention people with @username. Sharing photos and video in the event chat is limited to the organiser and staff — everyone else's photos belong on the event media wall instead, where they're easier to browse and react to.

Notifications

Event chats are meant to stay calm, so they're quieter than a direct message:

  • You won't get a push for every message — unread messages just show up in the app.
  • You will get a push when someone @mentions you directly.
  • The unread badge on Messages counts your direct chats only; each event shows its own unread count on its row.

Organisers and staff get a light notification for new messages so they can keep an eye on the room.

Moderation

The organiser and admins can edit or delete messages in the event chat. If something breaks the rules, report it so we can review.
