Direct messages on Cloomba
Cloomba has built-in 1:1 messaging — chat with organisers, co-hosts, or anyone else on the platform without leaving Cloomba.
Where to find it
- Web: the Messages tab in the top navigation.
- iOS and Android: the Messages tab at the bottom of the app.
You can also tap Message on someone's profile to start a new conversation.
What you can send
- Text messages — single line or multi-paragraph, with edit and delete.
- Photos — one image per message, with an optional caption. Use the photo button next to the input.
Messages are delivered in real time to whichever device the other person is using.
Message requests
The first message from someone you don't already chat with arrives as a request. You can accept or decline:
- Accept — the conversation moves to your main inbox; future messages arrive normally.
- Decline — the sender is not notified; you simply won't see further messages from them.
This keeps unsolicited messages out of your main inbox.
Read receipts and typing
- A Seen label appears under the newest of your messages once the other person has actually viewed it on screen — not just opened the thread.
- When the other person is typing, you'll see a typing indicator under their name.
Editing and deleting
Long-press (mobile) or hover (web) any message you sent to edit or delete it. Edited messages are marked as such. Deleted messages disappear for both sides.
Blocking
If someone is bothering you, block them from their profile. They will no longer be able to message you or see your activity.
What's not in v1 yet
Group chats, video attachments, and multi-photo messages are on the roadmap but not yet available.
