What are calendars on Cloomba?

Updated 10 Jun 2026

A calendar is a public page that groups related events together under one name. Think of it as a channel for your events — people can follow it and get notified whenever you add something new.

What calendars are for

Calendars work well for:

  • Recurring event series — a monthly meetup, a weekly class, a seasonal programme
  • Organisations — a company, venue, or community that runs multiple events
  • Topic-based collections — all tech events in a city, all events from a festival

How they work

You create a calendar and give it a name, description, and cover image. Then you add events to it — either your own or events submitted by other organisers. People who follow your calendar are notified when new events are added.

Each event can belong to more than one calendar. An event can be part of your own calendar and also submitted to a city or topic calendar run by someone else.

Following a calendar

Any Cloomba user can follow a calendar. Followers see the calendar's upcoming events and receive notifications when new events are posted. Following a calendar does not automatically RSVP you to any events — you still register for each one individually.

Calendars vs events

An event is a one-time thing with a date, a guest list, and an RSVP flow. A calendar is an ongoing collection with followers. They work together — your events get more reach through your calendar, and your calendar grows as you add more events.
